Week 12 Update! Full breakdown coming soon in a new post. Video is not final but I really wanted to post an update.
Week 6 updates! New images, currently working on my existing systems as well as volumetric clouds and rolling fog. Cinematic coming soon!
Need to add in missing geometry. I have 8 more weeks to finish this scene.
Everything after this is from week 3. Next update at week 9!
This is my progress for week 3 of my experimental Unreal 5 project.
I'm building a scene where lava and water collide. At this time I'm still in the early development stages of both my lava and water shaders.
My lava is using a dynamic flow map to better mimic reality. I still have a few issues with the math that will be worked out soon.
I don't have access to tessellation so my Gerstner waves only effect normal maps. I currently have no mesh displacement in use.
I've just started on my foam and it still feels unnatural. I've lower the opacity in the mean time.
Short time lapse of the scene in motion.
Material blending using virtual textures.
Changing lava perimeters. In the long run I want this spline blueprint to be drag and drop lava rivers.
This is my current lava set up. I'll be optimizing further once I'm satisfied with how it looks.
Master material for my megascan assets. I'm using virtual height fields to blend materials with my landscape.
My ocean shader in its current state.
These are images and videos of the current state of a project I'm working on. I'm currently on week four, most of this is from week three. I have around 13 weeks in total to finish the project.
I'm using Nanite, Lumen, and RVT in this scene.
I'll continue to update this page as I make new progress!
